Ecotoxicology Studies

IIRT has a well-established Ecotoxicology Test Facility. It is a dedicated space equipped with experimental chambers, analytical instruments, and culturing facilities. We ensure controlled studies on plants, avian species, aquatic and terrestrial organisms. Our emphasis on safety and ethics guarantees reliable results for informed decision-making. Join us in advancing ecotoxicological understanding for environmental protection and sustainable resource management.

As per the requirement of regulatory submission for the grant of registration of Agrochemicals, Chemicals, Bio-Pesticides, Human and Veterinary pharmaceuticals, etc. comprehensive ecotoxicology data is required. IIRT offers a range of aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology tests.

Aquatic Toxicity

As per the requirement of regulatory submission for the grant of registration of Agrochemicals, Chemicals, Bio Pesticides, human and veterinary pharmaceuticals during Environmental Risk/Impact Assessments, etc., comprehensive aquatic ecotoxicology data is to be required. IIRT offers a range of aquatic ecotoxicology tests.

  • Freshwater Alga and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test (Guideline: OECD 201)
  • Daphnia magna Acute Immobilization Test (Guideline: OECD 202)
  • Daphnia Magna Reproduction Test (Guideline: OECD 211)
  • Fish Acute toxicity (Guideline: OECD 203)
  • Fish Embryo Acute Toxicity (FET) Test (Guideline: OECD 236)
  • Fish, Short-term Toxicity Test on Embryo and Sac-Fry Stages (Guideline: OECD 212)
  • Fish- Juvenile Growth Test (Guideline: OECD 215)

Terrestrial Toxicity

The diversity of terrestrial organisms – plants, invertebrates, and vertebrates – living in and on the soil makes hazard assessment of a chemical in a terrestrial environment critical and more complex. Our terrestrial ecotoxicology tests include:

  • Earthworm, Acute Toxicity Test (Guideline: OECD-207)
  • Earthworm Reproduction Test (Guideline: OECD 222)
  • Earthworm Sub-chronic Toxicity Test (Guideline: OCSPP 850.3100)
  • Honeybee Acute Toxicity- (Guidelines: Oral- OECD-213; Contact- OECD-214)
  • Honeybee Larval Toxicity Test-Single Exposure (Guideline: OECD-237)
  • Bumble Bee Acute Toxicity (Guidelines: Contact- OECD 246; Oral- OECD 247)
  • Silkworm Acute Toxicity Test (Guideline: CIB&RC)
  • Avian Dietary Toxicity Test (Guideline: OECD 205)
  • Avian Acute Oral Toxicity Test (Guideline: OECD 223)
  • Avian Reproduction Test (Guideline: OECD 206)
  • Terrestrial Plant Toxicity Test (Guideline: OECD 208)
  • Soil Microorganism: Nitrogen Transformation Test (Guideline: OECD 216)
  • Soil Microorganism: Carbon Transformation Test (Guidelines: OECD 217)
